About us

WHO WE ARE//

We build the platforms Europe does not yet produce for itself.

What we are//

AForce is a development and manufacturing house.

We are not a systems integrator assembling foreign components under a local badge, and we are not a research group producing concepts for someone else to build. We design platforms, we manufacture them, we integrate the systems that go inside them, and we fly them ourselves.

That is a deliberate choice about what kind of company this needs to be. A capability that depends on someone else’s factory is not a capability a country controls.

Where we started//

So we ran the analysis properly. The conclusion was uncomfortable.

The company grew out of practical work with unmanned systems — operating them, building them, and training others to fly them. That work put us close enough.

In the class of platform Europe most urgently needs, there was no European product. European air defence crews had no domestically built system that flies like the threat they are expected to detect, identify and intercept — they were training against an absence. And the systems that did exist in this class were produced somewhere else, by someone else, under someone else’s export policy.
That is not a market gap. It is a structural dependency, and it is why AForce exists.

Cost per effect is now a capability.

Modern conflict is not decided only by what a system can do, but by how often a country can afford to use it. A platform that is too expensive to use at the tempo a real conflict demands is a capability on paper. We design against the cost constraint from the beginning, not as a savings exercise at the end.

Manufacturability is a design input, not a downstream problem.

Most programmes design an aircraft and then ask how to produce it. We invest the difficult hours early — in tooling, in part-count, in how the structure comes together — so that raising output later is a question of capacity, not redesign. A platform that is hard to manufacture is not a capability. It is a demonstrator.

The harder engineering path is often the correct one.

Where the industry has converged on the convenient solution, we have repeatedly chosen the more demanding architecture because it is the more efficient one over the whole mission. Convenience at the start of a flight is paid for across every kilometre after it.

Sovereignty is industrial, not rhetorical.

European autonomy is not achieved by writing it into a strategy document. It is achieved by being able to make the thing, in Europe, at rate, without asking permission.
